Tulisan blog kali ini sepertinya berbeda dengan tulisan saya akhir-akhir ini yang berkisar tentang fotografi. Agar lebih berwarna dan lepas dari kejenuhan, mungkin saja tulisan kali ini bisa memberikan beberapa pengetahuan, dan siapa tau dengan tulisan kali ini dapat nyrempet-nyrempet di dunia fotografi. Bisa menjadi inspirasi warna untuk background misalnya, atau lebih mengenal jenis cat apabila ingin cat interior dari ruangan client anda ingin difoto :D.
Ok yuuuuuk, kita bahas dikit yuuuuk soal Cat Tembok ini.
Setiap pemilik rumah, sudah pasti ada keinginan untuk mempercantik rumahnya, entah dari segi penataan ruangan, penambahan aksen dekorasi hingga permainan warna cat pada tembok atau dinding rumah.
Bagi kebanyakan orang awam, menganggap semua jenis cat adalah sama untuk penggunaannya, mungkin hanya kualitas berdasarkan harga yang mereka ketahui. Mereka terkadang membeli cat tembok untuk jenis yang sama dipakai untuk kebutuhan Interior dan Eksterior. Memang, selain ketidaktahuan tentang cat, juga masalah klasik yaitu "harga". Konsumen di Indonesia memang sangat sensitif terhadap harga, kualitas masih menjadi nomer sekian dibawah masalah harga.
Sudah banyak pula pengetahuan soal cat tembok yang tersebar di dunia Maya atau Internet, namun lagi-lagi, tidak semua memiliki akses ke ranah teknologi internet. Tapi setidaknya sharing sederhana di sini, dapat memberikan sedikit pengetahuan bagi yang belum mengetahui jenis dan beragam jenis brand Cat Tembok yang beredar di pasaran. Meskipun, brand Cat Tembok itu sendiri, sangat banyak sekali, dan disini hanya akan memberikan beberapa contoh yang familier dan cukup teruji dari kualitasnya di masyarakat.
Jenis Cat Tembok atau dinding Rumah untuk keperluan dekorasi, secara umum dibagi menjadi 2, yaitu:
1. Cat untuk Interior
2. Cat untuk Eksterior
I. Cat Interior
Cat Interior, dari formulasinya memang diperuntukkan untuk Interior rumah, jenis cat ini memang tidak diformulasikan tahan terhadap cuaca ekstrem apalagi di Indonesia yang memiliki cuaca sangat ekstrem antara panas dan hujan. Bila Cat interior dipaksakan untuk diaplikasikan pada eksterior rumah, barang tentu tidak akan bertahan cukup lama, mengelupas, pudar, mengapur dll sudah pasti menghinggapi cat tsb.
II. Cat Eksterior
Cat Eksterior memang dikhususkan untuk bagian eksterior rumah, Cat ini memang diformulasikan untuk lebih tahan terhadap serangan cuaca yang kerap kali berubah-ubah, mulai panas terik hingga hujan sekalipun. Biasanya hasil akhir dari cat eksterior secara umum adalah satin, atau semi gloss, atau seperti kulit telur. karena didalamnya memang lebih banyak resin acrylic.
Cat Eksterior dapat pula diaplikasikan di dalam ruangan atau Interior, hanya saja harga cat eksterior yang lebih mahal dari cat interior akan membuat over budget bila dipaksakan untuk Interior.
Sedangkan, Cat Tembok itu sendiri juga dibagi menjadi beberapa kelas berdasarkan kualitasnya, yaitu kelas bawah, menengah dan kelas Premium. Disini saya akan sharing contoh dari masing kelas yang umum dan banyak dipakai oleh konsumen Cat di Indonesia juga mereview sedikit berdasarkan pengalaman pribadi.
Ragam Jenis Brand atau Merk Cat juga banyak macamnya, mulai dari pabrikan ICI, Nippon Paint, Jotun, Danapaint, Propan dll.
1. Kelas Premium
Segment kelas menengah keatas untuk cat Tembok Premium memang tidak banyak ragamnya dibanding kelas bawah, selain harganya yang cukup mahal dengan menjamin kualitas yang yahud, juga sasaran konsumennya tentu saja yang memang peduli dengan berbagai faktor seperti aspek seni, kenyamanan, kesehatan dll. Karena Cat Tembok Premium biasanya pula memiliki beberapa fitur penting yang disertakan seperti, bebas mercury, anti jamur dan lumut, anti cipratan, juga green label atau ramah lingkungan dll. Cat Kelas ini sebagian besar dijual dalam kemasan Liter atau volume, berbeda dengan kelas menengah atau kelas value bawah yang cenderung menggunakan Kilogram dalam penjualannya.
Contoh brand atau merk cat Interior pada kelas ini antara Lain:
Dulux Pentalite
Cat produksi dari ICI ini mempunyai hasil akhir Matt atau dof, pengalaman pribadi memakai cat ini, sangat baik, daya sebar yang tinggi dan daya tutup yang baik pula.
Dulux Pearl Glo
Masih sama dengan Pentalite, yaitu produk dari ICI. Cat ini lebih mahal daripada Dulux Pentalite, dengan daya sebar yang relatif sama, daya tutup yang baik, dah hasil akhir semi gloss, menjadikan dinding anda yang memang benar-benar rata dan halus akan tampak lebih elegant. Tips: kalau tidak terpaksa dan dinding anda tidak rata atau halus, jangan memakai cat yang memiliki hasil akhir semi gloss, karena ke-tidak rataan dinding anda akan semakin terlihat.
Nippon Spotless
Cat produksi Nippon paint ini sangat bagus, fitur anti noda dan mudah dicuci menjadi andalannya, daya sebar dan daya tutup yang sangat baik serta ramah lingkungan. Hasil akhir cat ini adalah satin, atau dibawah semi gloss sedikit.
Nippon Matex Gold
Cat premium dengan hasil akhir dof atau matt, harga sangat bersaing, dengan hasil akhir saat kering bila disentuh sangat lembut dan halus, daya hiding atau daya tutup dan sebar yang sangat baik, tingkat kekentalan yang cukup tinggi.
Jotun Majestic Royale Matt
Sudah bisa ditebak dari namanya, produk dari jotun ini memiliki hasil akhir dof atau matt, daya tutup sangat baik, tingkat kekentalan sedang, dan daya sebar yang sedikit lebih rendah dibanding produk milik nippon paint. dan dari segi harga, type atau merk ini yang paling murah dibanding cat premium milik Jotun.
Jotun Majestic Pearl Silk
Hasil akhir satin dan mudah dicuci, menjadikan tembok anda terlihat elegant, daya tutup tinggi dan daya sebar cukup tinggi pula.
Jotun Majestic Optima
Cat milik jotun ini memiliki harga yang paling mahal diantara Majestic Pearl Silk dan Royale Matt. hasil akhir yang semi gloss atau semi kilap dan mudah dicuci dan tahan noda menjadi pilihan yang tepat dan bagus.
Selain beberapa brand yang saya sebutkan diatas, sebenarnya masih ada beberapa brand yang cukup bagus, meskipun saya pribadi belum sempat untuk mencobanya, seperti produk dari propan dengan Decorsafe dan Decorlotus yang tahan noda, produk dari Mowilex dll.
Contoh Brand untuk Cat Eksterior untuk kelas Premium antara lain:
Mowilex WeatherCoat
Hampir semua cat eksterior untuk kelas premium memiliki hasil akhir satin hingga semi gloss. tahan cuaca ekstrim, cat dari mowilex ini memiliki daya sebar yang tinggi dan daya tutup yang sangat baik.
Nippon WeatherBond
Cat Nippon ini sangat baik, dari segi daya tutup maupun daya sebarnya, karena kekentalan dari produk ini juga tinggi, sehingga saat melakukan pengenceran bisa lebih tinggi dan akan mendapatkan daya sebar yang baik. Perlindungan terhadap cuaca yang baik dan warna yang tidak cepat pudar. dan Setelah kering, cat milik nippon paint ini cukup halus saat diraba.
Jotun Jotashield dan Jotashield Extreme.
Kedua cat eksterior milik jotun ini juga sangat bagus, ketebalan film hasil akhir yang cukup tipis, daya tutup sangat baik dan daya sebar yang cukup baik pula, meskipun daya sebarnya masih kalah sedikit dibanding milik nippon paint dan Dulux Weathershield. Khusus yang memiliki embel-embel extreme, ketahanannya lebih baik daripada tanpa embel-embel extreme, dan tentu harga lebih mahal :), untuk yang memakai embel-embel extreme, setara dengan milik Dulux Weathershield max
Dulux Weathershield Pro dan Weathershield Max
Produk keluaran dari ICI Dulux memang tidak diragukan lagi, dari ketiga merk atau brand sebelumnya, milik dulux adalah yang paling mahal harganya. Dan produk dari Dulux ini cukup terkenal pula. dengan daya sebar dan tutup yang tinggi membuat cat ini sangat diperhitungkan. Ketahanan terhadap cuaca yang ekstrem juga sangat baik khususnya yang memiliki embel-embel Max.
Dari ke-empat produk diatas, pengalaman saya, untuk ketahanan rata-rata pada cuaca ekstrem seperti di indonesia, Nippon weatherbond dan mowilex Weathercoat sudah sangat memadai, harga yang wajar dan daya sebar yang sangat baik, juga kualitas yang tidak diragukan lagi, bahkan mampu hingga 5thn. Bila ingin ketahanan lebih dari 7-8thn, harga yang lebih mahal,kualitas yang baik pula? Jotun Jotashield Extreme dan Dulux Weathershield Max perlu diperhitungkan. Nippon paint sebenarnya memiliki produk yang sebanding dengan Dulux Weathershield Max dan Jotun Jotashield Extreme ini, yaitu Super Nippon Weatherbond, tetapi hingga saat ini masih belum menemui dipasaran surabaya dan sekitarnya.
2. Kelas Menengah
Cukup banyak brand yang mencoba bermain di kelas ini, bahkan pabrikan terkenal seperti ICI Dulux dan Nippon Paint juga melepaskan produknya untuk memenuhi kebutuhan konsumen di kelas menengah. Ada pula beberapa merk atau brand yang mencoba meraih hati konsumen dengan meningkatkan penyebaran marketnya, meningkatkan brand image dengan harapan dapat menempatkan hasil produknya pada jajaran kelas menengah, tapi lagi-lagi dari pengalaman penulis, hasil akhir dan kualitas yang didapat masih dibawah kelas menengah produk milik Nippon dan ICI Dulux.
Contoh Brand cat Interior untuk kelas menengah antara lain:
Nippon Super Vinilex dan Vinilex (5000)
Untuk kelas menengah, Saya pribadi lebih memilih produk milik Nippon ini, dari beberapa kali mengerjakan project menggunakan produk nippon, tidak mengecewakan. Bahkan beberapa waktu lalu, saya pribadi mencoba menggunakan Vinilex untuk Interior rumah saya. Daya tutup yang tangguh, dan daya sebar yang tinggi serta hasil yang cukup halus saat diraba menjadikan Vinilex patut diperhitungkan. Terlebih saat ini sepertinya Nippon juga sedang mendongkrak pemasaran produknya khususnya Vinilex yang memiliki desain kemasan baru membuat cat ini lebih dikenal masyarakat atau konsumen, meskipun masyarakat mungkin lebih banyak mengenal Catylac yang terlebih dulu sejak lama gencar mengenalkan pada masyarakat. Super Vinilex selama ini, saya belum menemukan fitur yang bisa menggunakan warna oplosan atau tinting system. beberapa kali memakai super vinilex, daya tutupnya lebih baik daripada vinilex, daya sebar yang sama, tetapi hasil akhir yang sepertinya cenderung lebih kasar ketimbang vinilex.
Catylac
Siapa yang tidak mengenal brand Catylac? hampir kebanyakan orang sudah pasti mengenal brand ini. Produk dari ICI Dulux ini memang bagus untuk kelas menengah, terlebih ditopang dengan nama besar ICI Dulux. Terlebih Catylac sudah berganti design kemasan dan formula baru, sepertinya tidak mau kalah dengan brand-brand baru yang tengah membidik kelas ini. Cat Catylac memiliki daya tutup dan sebar yang baik, hasil akhir dof atau matt, dan setelah mengering, hasil cat cukup halus, meski tidak sehalus vinilex (CMIIW). Dari segi harga terpaut lebih murah sedikit ketimbang Vinilex ataupun SuperVinilex.
Avitex
Produk dari Avian paint ini sepertinya banyak tersebar di surabaya dan sekitarnya, dan Cat ini juga mendobrak di kelas menengah, saya pribadi tidak dapat berbicara banyak mengenai Cat Avitex, karena belum pernah memakainya, sehingga tidak banyak yang dapat saya simpulkan dari Cat Avitex.
Paragon
Sebenarnya bingung juga mengelompokkan Cat Paragon ini. DIlihat dari segi harga masih dibawah Avitex (CMIIW) namun siapa yang tidak mengenal warna Putihnya paling putih dari Cat Paragon ini. Memang kebanyakan orang banyak yang memberikan jempol 2 untuk produk ini karena putihnya menjadi warna paling putih. Cat Paragon, saya pribadi sering memakainya pada plafon atau langit-langit juga dinding dari client yang memang menginginkan warna yang benar-benar super putih. Kalau dilihat dari daya tutupnya, memang masih dibawah Vinilex bahkan Catylac. Tapi dari segi putihnya, saya pribadi mengakuinya, putihnya memang luar biasa :)
Sebenarnya dipasaran kelas menengah sangat banyak sekali brand-brand yang bertebaran, ada juga Envitex, produk ini dilihat dari segi harga sebenarnya berani masuk di kelas menengah, namun pengalaman saya pribadi memakai cat ini, masih ragu menempatkan cat ini pada kelas menengah, karena kualitasnya menurut saya masih cukup jauh dibawah Vinilex dan Catylac. Pengalaman memakai cat ini, daya sebarnya terbilang cukup, daya tutupnya cenderung dibawah rata-rata sedikit. Bahkan 3x lapis kebanyakan masih berbayang.
3. Cat Kelas Bawah
Kelas ini banyak sekali berjubel dengan brand-brand yang banyak dikenal maupun tidak dikenal sekalipun. tidak banyak yang bisa saya tulis disini, karena tidak banyak yang pernah saya pakai dan tidak cukup pengalaman memakai cat pada kelas ini, mungkin hanya 1 atau dua merk saja. Pada kelas ini brand-brand penghuninya antara lain Komilex, Q-luc, Mawar, Aga, Cendana dll.
Kesimpulan
Baiklah, sepertinya perlu mengambil beberapa kesimpulan, meskipun ini bersifat Pribadi berdasarkan pengalaman pribadi di lapangan, dan bukan kesimpulan yang mewakili orang banyak ataupun dari perusahaan Cat sekalipun.
1. Pilihlah cat sesuai dengan penggunaanya, apakah untuk Interior atau exterior, meskipun ada beberapa brand yang memberikan keterangan cat dapat digunakan di Interior maupun eksterior, namun hasil cat yang khusus untuk interior ataupun eksterior saja lebih baik kualitasnya.
2. Disaat yang serba sulit saat ini, bijaklah memilih brand dan kualitas sesuai dengan kantong anda.
3. Biasanya Harga memang berbanding lurus dengan kualitasnya, namun ada pula brand yang tampaknya memberikan harga yang lebih tinggi bahkan terlalu mahal sedangkan kualitasnya bisa jadi sama dengan brand lainnya.
4. Jangan terlena dengan cat murahan sedangkan anda menginginkan hasil akhir yang istimewa. Cat lebih mahal mungkin hanya cukup 2x lapis sudah menutup dinding anda, dan daya sebarnya bisa luas, sedangkan cat murahan, bisa jadi 3 sampai 4x lapis agar bisa memiliki lapisan film yang mampu menutup dinding anda, ditambah daya sebar yang kecil, tentu membuat lebih banyak cat yang anda butuhkan, ini bisa jadi dana yang anda keluarkan lebih banyak ketimbang membeli cat yang lebih berkualitas.
5. Kecanggihan teknologin memang tidak dapat dihindarkan, Cat kelas menengah hingga premium yang dimiliki pabrikan-pabrikan terkenal mulai menyediakan pemilihan warna hingga ribuan warna, dan anda tinggal memilih warna yang diinginkan, kemudian mesin tinting system atau mesin oplos warna akan mengerjakan saat itu juga.

A simple round table from a big-box store was given a glam makeover with a coat of spray lacquer, then accented with a set of garden chairs. "The chairs were already painted a dove grey, so all I did was cover the seats in this graphic acid yellow fabric," says Samantha. Bright porcelain dishes found in Chinatown for a steal add a pop of colour and pattern.
Home office
No matter how much space you have, you always end up working at the dining table. Samantha’s main rule for turning a dining room into an office? "Don’t default to utilitarian office supplies," she says. Instead, splurge on chic desk accessories like a stylish Rolodex, a classic phone and a pretty table lamp. Corral small items on a tray to keep your desk neat. When you’re ready to turn the desk back into a dining table, you can just lift away the tray.
Girly glam
The jumping-off point for this feminine boudoir was an ornate silver mirror with serious wow factor. A $20 lamp base was dressed up with a luxurious blush-coloured shade, referencing the hue in the photograph. Books and accessories in the same silver and pink tones provide the finishing touches.

Traditional masculine patterns and textures define this manly retreat. A leather briefcase holds everyday items, such as watches, cufflinks and cologne. To prevent the vignette from looking too boxy, a globe and shapely trophy lamp bookend the display, giving it balance and interest.

Green and fuchsia toss cushions serve as the foundation for this fresh, colourful look. who splurged on the silk floral-patterned cushions. To balance the cost, she paired the pricey cushions with some inexpensive kelly green beauties. Blue garden stools tie in with the aqua throw. A great alternative to a traditional coffee table, the stools offer extra seating when guests come to visit.

For the switch, one piece of art was replaced with a blown-up photograph, while the garden stools were exchanged for a modern coffee table. "Glass-topped tables are ideal in small spaces because they read as light and airy."
Party central
The marble slab on top of the chest acts as a large coaster, so there’s no worry about spills or scratches wrecking the dresser's finish. The artwork and television from the first look were exchanged for an inexpensive custom yellow piece, which becomes the focal point and provides colour inspiration for the bookshelf displays. The wallpaper was removed and bright yellow accessories were added to liven things up.
TV time
A refurbished vintage dresser flanked by simple offthe- rack bookcases provides a home for the television. The large piece of art layered behind it balances the tall bookcases and appears as an extension of the TV. The pretty blue floral wallpaper lining the back of the bookcases tricks the eye, making them look full and robust. VIA
